Frances, Kayla’s mom, reached out to me and said that they were all helping Caleb plan on his proposal to Kayla. They told her that they had won a free dinner for two and a mini photo session with a photographer. Such a clever idea! I got to witness everything as I was photographing them as Caleb went down on one knee and popped the question and she said yes. Caleb did a pretty good job pretending as if he had no clue as to what was going on. Kayla had no idea and looked pretty surprised after Caleb reached for the ring in his pocket. It was a good day! The whole family was all excited, eagerly waiting as we were finishing up with the photo shoot, they all came to celebrate with the newly engaged couple.

The big day has arrived. We came a little early to start photographing, but the day seemed to be passing by so quickly. Time flies when you’re having fun, right? The weather has started to warm up, and the clouds were rolling in as we were all settling in at the reception. Caleb and Kayla had finally sat down to relax and enjoy their dinner with friends and family. Everything was going well as it should be. During the reception, I usually like to do a few more portraits of the couple. As we were starting to head out of the building for a few night shots, it was pouring rain. It shouldn’t have stopped us. A few rain shots would have been great. But with a tight schedule, it was not feasible. With limited areas, we were still able to manage to come up with some creative images for Kayla and Caleb. We’re so thankful for them being so patient with us to pose for several more shots.
