Kayla and Caleb: Wedding | Raleigh, North Carolina

Frances, Kayla’s mom, reached out to me and said that they were all helping Caleb plan his proposal to Kayla. They informed me that they had won a free dinner for two and a mini photo session with a photographer. Such a clever idea! I got to witness everything as I photographed them. Caleb went down on one knee, popped the question, and she said yes. Caleb did a pretty good job pretending as if he had no clue about what was going on. Kayla had no idea and looked pleasantly surprised after Caleb reached for the ring in his pocket. It was a good day! The whole family was excited, eagerly waiting as we finished up the photo shoot, and they all came to celebrate with the newly engaged couple.

The big day arrived. We arrived a little early to start photographing, but the day seemed to pass by so quickly. Time flies when you’re having fun, right? The weather warmed up, and clouds rolled in as we all settled in at the reception. Caleb and Kayla finally sat down to relax and enjoy their dinner with friends and family. Everything was going well, as it should. During the reception, I usually like to capture a few more portraits of the couple. As we started to head out of the building for a few night shots, it started pouring rain. It shouldn’t have stopped us. A few rain shots would have been great. But with a tight schedule, it was not feasible. With limited areas, we were still able to manage to create some creative images for Kayla and Caleb. We’re thankful for their patience as they posed for several more shots. Here are a few of the images we captured. Thank you so much for the honor of being a part of your big day, Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Poplin!!!
